IMPETUS is delighted to be co-hosting the upcoming cluster event, “Advancing Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the European Research Area,” along with the REA and the ECS project

This event is scheduled for June 19, 2025, in Brussels, where we will celebrate citizen science and showcase the value of public engagement, highlighting best practices, guiding future policy, sharing knowledge, and building collaboration. A highlight of the event will be the announcement of the 2025 European Union Prize for Citizen Science winners.

The event will provide a platform to showcase successful and innovative citizen engagement strategies, reinforcing the value of “Bringing science closer to citizens” within the European Research Area. EU-funded research projects will present their citizen science and public engagement experiences, sharing best practices. The winners of the EU Prize for Citizen Science will be announced, rewarding outstanding citizen science initiatives that address social, political, cultural, and environmental challenges through the involvement of citizens.

IMPETUS is committed to supporting and recognizing citizen science initiatives across Europe. Through our accelerator program, we provide funding, training, and mentorship to citizen science projects, enabling them to contribute effectively to the Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The EU Prize for Citizen Science, which we are proud to co-organise, is a testament to our dedication to acknowledging the vital role of citizen science in addressing contemporary challenges.

We encourage all stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and citizens, to join us in Brussels or online to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborations that will shape the future of public engagement and citizen science in Europe.

Registration details will be provided soon!
