The 2024 EU Prize for Citizen Science winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 12, at 11:15 CEST!

We would like to invite you to the live stream of the Press Event for the European Union Prize for Citizen Science taking place on Wednesday, June 12th.

At this joint event, organised by IMPETUS, Ars Electronica and the European Research Executive Agency, we will announce the 2024 recipients of the Grand Prize, the Diversity & Collaboration Award, the Digital Communities Award and the 27 Honorary Mentions.

Opening remarks and presentation of the Prize by Marc Tachelet, Director of the European Research Executive Agency (REA), and Minna Wilkki, REA’s Head of Department ‘Future Society’.

Winners’ announcement by IMPETUS’ team/representative, presentation of the winning projects and statement by the jury:

  • Grand Prize award (€60,000) for outstanding achievements in the advancement of knowledge through the empowerment of civil society and citizens in the development of the future.
  • Diversity & Collaboration award (€20,000) for excellence in grassroots approaches, explorative collaboration, community participation, and diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Digital Communities award (€20,000) for demonstrating excellence in creating and supporting communities, delivering social benefits, and fostering an open and inclusive civil society through the innovative or alternative use of digital technologies.
