What comes next?

For the IMPETUS Accelerator Programme:

We are now conducting internal eligibility checks on all applications. Once this step is complete, a panel of citizen science experts will evaluate each eligible project based on the following criteria:

Idea
Implementation
Team & Community
Impact

Each project will be scored on a 1-5 scale, and a shortlist will be finalized by mid-April. Shortlisted projects will then be invited for an online interview.

Following the interviews, the final selection will be made, and successful applicants will be notified by the end of April.

🎉 Then the real journey begins! Selected teams will take part in the IMPETUS Bootcamp from May 13th to 24th, where they’ll receive training, mentorship, and support from the IMPETUS team.

For the EU Prize for Citizen Science:

The IMPETUS team is currently reviewing all applications for eligibility. Once verified, at least two members of our Prize Jury will assess the eligible projects and create a shortlist.

In April 2025, the jury will meet in person to review the shortlisted projects and make their final selections.

🏆 Winners and honourable mentions will be notified by mid-June.

All the prize winners and projects receiving honourable mentions will be informed by mid-June.

Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude to all of you for your time, effort, and dedication in submitting your projects. The innovation and passion in the European Research Area continue to inspire us, and we can’t wait to see the incredible citizen science initiatives that emerge.

And finally- Best of luck to all applicants!
